Bucklin was originally called Corbitt when it was laid out about 1885. It was renamed Bucklin in 1887, after Bucklin Township. The city is located at 37°3253N 99°386W (37.547942, -99.635001) According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.59 square miles (1.53 km²), of which 0.56 square miles of it is land and 0.03 sq miles (0.08 km²) is water. The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 727, with a population density of 1,417.9 inhabitants per square mile (547.5/km²) The city's median income was $38,750, and the per capita income for the city is $18,235. It has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps. In the 2010 census, there were 794 people, 287 households, and 204 families residing in the city. The racial makeup of theCity was 95.03% White, 0.41% African American, 069% Native American, 1.52% Asian, and 1.93% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.0% of the population. History
The community was originally called Corbitt when it was laid out about 1885. It was renamed Bucklin in 1887, after Bucklin Township. Bucklin was incorporated in 1909. It is situated at the junction of two railroads. The community has a population of about 2,000. The town is located on the Ohio River, which runs through the center of the town. It also has access to the Ohio and Illinois rivers, which run through the community. The village is located at a junction of the Ohio, Illinois, and Ohio Railway. The Ohio River flows through the town, which was once known as the "Bucklin River" The community is located near the intersection of the U.S. and Ohio Turnpike, which ran through the centre of the community, and the Ohio-Illinois Railroad, which passed through the village in 1885 and 1887. The city was named for Bucklin, a former township in Ohio, which became part of the state in 1881. In 1909, the town was incorporated as Bucklin. It has a total population of 2,068, with about 1,000 residents living in the town of Bucklin and the rest in Bucklin County, which is on the Illinois River, and about 3,000 in the rest of the county.

It also has an airport for air and sea travel, which serves as the airport's main hub for the nearby town of Bakersfield. It has a post office with a ZIP code of 7054.
